Reader Recommendations:
Have a particular book that you think I will be interested in? You can send recommendations to me at bennysbooks[at]gmail[dot]com. I can’t guarantee that I will read it; but I’m always looking for new authors and books to read. There’s something really exciting about discovering a new author and wanting to dive into all of their other novels.
For Publishers and Authors:
Benny’s Book Blog does accept solicited books; however I cannot guarantee that every book will be read completely. Every book that I do review will be posted on my blog and my main website, www.bennysbooks.com. I am very selective on my reading choices; I want to be able to write honest reviews and if the genre is not of interest to me, I don’t feel as if I can write an unbiased review. If I cannot finish a book, then I will not write a review and will notify the sender (as I understand sometimes endings can make or break the book)
My credentials:
I am an avid reader and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor of liberal arts in English. I have also taken several writing classes at The Loft in Minneapolis. Also, I’m well-known among my friends for having an opinion about everything.
Books that I accept:
I will accept bound books from a traditional publisher. I do not accept e-books or electronic books of any kind.
Books that are sent to me will be kept by me, given to a friend, or used as a giveaway item on my blog. If any of these are in conflict with your needs, please let me know in your proposal.
Book Genres:
I am mostly interest in historical fiction, coming-of-age dramas, children’s books, teen books and biographies. I am interested in some reference books: art and gardening are main interests of mine.
I am not interested in most fantasy novels or self-help books.
Timeframe:
My to-read list is rather long. Most books (that I finish) will be reviewed in two to six months. Once the review is ready to be published, I will notify the sender the day of the posting.
Where I Post:
My reviews will be posted on several sites: my main site, my book blog, Amazon and Goodreads. The reviews on www.bennysbooks.com and on www.bennysbooks.wordpress.com will include links to buy at Amazon.com. I, also, Twitter when a new review is on my site.
